If you have got your sights set on a successful, exciting, and rewarding career in forensic and criminal investigation and want to progress onto Higher Education to further your prospects, then this is the perfect course for you.

This course requires you to practically explore the principles of science that form the basis of some of the analytical techniques commonly used to investigate crimes and carry out analysis on forensic evidence. This course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to achieve your future goals.

The Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Forensic Science is an advanced, technical qualification equivalent to 3 A-levels in science. It is a two-year full-time course for students who want to progress to higher education courses in the forensic and criminal investigation sector before entering employment.

Based in our state-of-the-art laboratories, you will get to perform real experiments and hands-on assignments using industry-standard equipment. You will be able to improve your practical skills under the supervision of experienced subject-specialist teachers.

There is an option of a one-year course that can be discussed during the interview.

In the first year, you will study four core units, covering the following content areas:
