We are excited to share the brand-new Level 4 in Game Design and Development. It will be delivered at London South Bank Technical College (LSBTC) in buzzing Nine Elms in partnership with London South Bank University (LSBU) who will manage your application.
If your ambition is to have a career in game design, animation or VFX, either in a specialism or in a more general role, becoming highly skilled, well-trained and qualified in the field is an essential first step. This one-year Level 4 qualification in Game Development is an advanced, technical qualification co-developed with London South Bank University (LSBU) and employers, delivered in a supportive Technical College environment with contemporary facilities.
Gaining this industry-led qualification will not only provide you with a direct route to Higher Education, including direct entry to the second year of some of London South Bank University’s Bachelor’s degrees, it also will further your skills in designing, programming, testing games and further your understanding and experience of their marketing needed to fast-track your entry into the exciting and fast-moving world of game development and its related industries.
Through immersive, project-based working, you will explore everything from game design, character development, concept art and animation to digital painting and 3D modelling and VFX, enabling you to develop a diverse skillset to take into a successful career in the industry. You will use industry standard equipment and software including, for example, Photoshop, Unity, Blender, Premiere Pro and After Effects, and work on live briefs and projects focussed around working with professional clients in the industry?
When undertaking practical assessments you will be supported by industry-professional lecturers to perform to an industry standard, either working within a team or on your own, using your own initiative to research required topics. Students will be able to access some of London South Bank University’s specialist facilities and benefit from the expertise of the University lecturers via master classes and other activities, whilst studying in small groups in a supportive College environment.
This course requires a dual enrolment. After enrolling at South Bank Colleges you will be invited to enrol at London South Bank University. Students can benefit from access to shared facilities, including The Hub, a state-of-the-art library and study space, and the university’s modern gym and fitness facilities. This unique advantage combines the best of college-level support with the extensive resources of a university campus.
The one year Cert HE Film and Media Production (Level 4) course provides students with essential foundations in film studies, media studies, and creative media production. Learners develop a historical, social, and cultural understanding of the media landscape while exploring the impact of new and emerging technologies in film, and digital content creation. The course places a strong emphasis on practical film production, media production techniques, digital storytelling, editing, and creative project work.
Throughout this Level 4 film and media programme, students build an industry-ready digital portfolio, preparing them for employment in film production, online media, and the wider creative industries. This qualification also provides a clear progression route into Higher Education, offering direct Level 5 (second-year) entry onto London South Bank University’s BA (Hons) Film and Television Practice Course.

Even traditional sport stars are getting in on the act, and everyone from David Beckham to Odell Beckham Jr, and Mason Mount to Max Verstappen are founding teams and promoting the industry.
The Level 2 Diploma in Esports is designed to provide your first major step into this fast-moving, adrenaline-fuelled, dynamic industry; and to prepare you for progression to higher-level study or an apprenticeship.
This course will teach you the essential skills and fundamental knowledge that underpin the Esports business, and covers games, teams, and tournament play; streaming; starting an enterprise and planning an event; and allows you to choose between game design or exploring health and wellbeing in Esports.

The Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology is an advanced course designed to develop your in-depth knowledge and understanding of the creative media industry, while teaching you essential technical skills that will enable you to progress to further training in a variety of media related subjects.
This is a two year programme and is the equivalent of 3 A levels, making it perfect for those of you who wish to progress to Higher Education. Through practical learning and real-world immersive study, you will develop both the creative media skills, and theoretical knowledge, that you need for a successful and rewarding career in this industry.
You will gain experience of audio and visual technology; pre-production, production, and post-production processes; interactive media, creative media methods, and the application of media practice to express ideas to a range of audiences.
More than just developing your technical skills, you will also gain a deeper knowledge of the theories and principles of creative media production, and increase your understanding of the media industry as a whole. You will learn about professional standards, research methodologies, the expectations of the industry, and gain a conceptual understanding of the uses of creative media.
