South Bank Colleges’ Nine Elms campus played host to an inspiring and lively Higher Education Fair on the 20th May, giving students a valuable opportunity to meet representatives from a wide range of UK universities and higher education institutions – all under one roof.

Held at London South Bank Technical College (LSBTC), the event welcomed students from across South Bank Colleges’ campuses, including Clapham and Nine Elms itself. Whether already planning their next step or just beginning to consider university as an option, students had the chance to explore a wide range of degree routes, career possibilities, and application advice.

In attendance were representatives from some of the UK’s most respected universities, including:

  • London South Bank University (LSBU) – our own university and a key part of the LSBU Group.

  • Swansea University.

  • Regent College London.

  • University of West London.

  • University of Roehampton.

  • Kingston University.

  • St Mary’s University Twickenham.

  • London Metropolitan University.

  • Oxford Brookes University.

  • University of Brighton.

  • Jain London School of Management.

  • Birkbeck, University of London.

  • Norwich University of the Arts.

  • Southampton Solent University.

  • Brunel University London.

From arts and engineering to management and healthcare, students engaged in meaningful conversations about degree options, funding, UCAS applications, and the student experience. For many, this was their first time speaking directly with university staff – and the enthusiasm in the room was undeniable.

Adetola Ogunyemi, the event's organiser, commented:

“We’re incredibly proud to support our students in taking the next step in their education journey. Events like this fair help demystify university and show that higher education is within reach for everyone.”

The event forms part of South Bank Colleges’ ongoing commitment to supporting student progression, whether that’s into higher education, apprenticeships, or skilled employment. For students nearing the end of their college course, it was a perfect opportunity to make informed decisions about the future.

One of SBC's students noted:

“I wasn’t sure if university was for me, but today gave me loads to think about. I spoke to London South Bank and Brighton universities and now I’m seriously considering applying next year.”

With the success of this year’s fair, the college is already looking ahead to future events that continue to connect students with life-changing opportunities.
