Recently, the Work Experience Team at South Bank Colleges had the pleasure of taking a group of our students to London South Bank University for a truly inspiring Nursing Taster Day. It was an engaging and hands-on experience that offered our students an exciting glimpse into the world of nursing and the many rewarding career paths it offers.

The day began with a warm welcome from the LSBU Nursing Team, followed by a guided tour of the university campus. Students had the opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art facilities, including clinical skills labs that mirror real hospital environments.

The highlight of the day was the series of interactive workshops and simulated clinical scenarios. Our students got involved in activities such as treating simulated burns and managing patient care, gaining practical insights into the responsibilities and challenges faced by healthcare professionals. These realistic exercises not only built confidence but also deepened their understanding of nursing practice.

Throughout the day, students learned about the various routes into nursing, including adult, child, mental health and learning disability nursing. The sessions sparked meaningful conversations about the values, skills and dedication required to pursue a career in healthcare.

Being part of the LSBU group, our collaboration with the university continues to provide invaluable opportunities for our students. We are proud to support their ambitions and guide them towards careers that make a real difference.
