Something exciting is taking shape at South Bank Colleges as a group of motivated learners step forward as Career Champions. This dedicated team works closely with the Careers and Work Experience Department to promote employability, raise career awareness and boost student engagement across the college. Their work reflects the student voice in action, with campaigns designed to inspire their peers and strengthen the wider community.

Last week the Career Champions gathered to share ideas, build connections and begin shaping their upcoming projects. The session was followed by an inspiring Podcast Creation Workshop led by Donnell Webster from INFIN ARC. Learners explored what makes a strong podcast, how to structure an engaging episode and how to grow confidence in public speaking.
The vision is to launch a student led podcast that shines a light on careers, education and personal development. Episodes will feature conversations with employers, students and staff, giving listeners a genuine insight into real experiences and opportunities.
Confidence, creativity and communication skills are growing with every step these young leaders take. The first episode of the student led podcast is on the way, promising a fresh and authentic voice from the South Bank Colleges community.
